PM: Dhaka can host any ICC tournament

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said Bangladesh is always ready to host any tournament of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

She said this when ICC president Alan Assac made a courtesy call on her at her office on Sunday, BSS reports.

“Bangladesh is giving impetus to cricket as well as other sports. A cricket academy is being established in Cox's Bazar,” she said.

In this regard, Sheikh Hasina mentioned Bangladesh's athletes’ success in the Special Olympics for the disabled last year.

“An international standard sports complex is being constructed at Savar for physically challenged persons,” she added.

ICC president Alan Assac extended his thanks to the prime minister for her overall support, including security for arrangements for the ICC T20 World Cup 2014.
