Three people have been killed by lightning in the district’s Pekua and Chokoria upazilas on Friday morning.
The deceased are salt farmers Jamal Hossain, 25, son of Abu Taher, of Kochhalpara area and Mod Toufique, 13, son of Amir Hossain, of Chhanua area and Alauddin, 26, son of Kabir Ahmad, of Tekpara Area in Chokoria upazila.
In Pekua upazila, lightning struck Jamal and Toufique while they were working on their salt fields on Friday morning.
Besides, Alauddin died as lightning struck him in the morning while he was outside.
Pekua police station Officer-in-Charge Habibur Rahman and Chokoria police station Officer-in-Charge MD Farhad confirmed about the matter to the Dhaka tribune.
