The police super of Munshiganj district has been withdrawn on charge of his negligence in duty, corruption and failure to prevent violence during the fourth phase upazila polls.
Md Habibur Rahman has been closed to police headquarters and made The Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Zakir Hossain, acting police superintendent of Munshiganj, confirmed about the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
Earlier, the SP was sent on a seven-day leave immediately after the officer-in-charge of Gazaria police station was withdrawn on the same charge.
The police officer has also been served showing cause notice as he reportedly ignored two emergency letters from the home ministry asking him to file a case in connection with the incident of a UNO assault by an ASI.
