The principal of a college has been assaulted by activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student front of ruling Awami League, on Monday.
Factions of Nizampur Degree College unit Chhatra League clashed near campus premises on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 11:30am, police said.
The college’s principal Rafiq Uddin rushed to the spot to stop them, Mirsharai police station Officer-in-Charge Iftekhar Hasan said.
Instead the principal fell victim to the wrath of both groups and was assaulted, he added. The clash was triggered from a previous enmity.
