The Independence Day Kabaddi sponsored by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Walton starts at the Laboni Point of Cox’s Bazar from Friday.
The two day long meet will be participated by defending champions Border Guards Bangladesh, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.
In a press conference held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium conference room yesterday the senior assistant secretary of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry Babul Miah said their ministry will be continuing the assistance and the fund will be enhanced. “Kabaddi is our national game and we are with it, this year we have provided Tk. 400000.00 for the meet that is the double of last year’s purse, we look forward to provide more next year” said Babul Miah.
A.F.M. Iqbai bin Anwar Dawn, the additional director of Walton said they will be providing LCD televisions and home appliances for the winners. Nazrul Islam, the general secretary of the kabaddi federation said the meet will be the used as a selection process for the next month’s World Beach Kabaddi.
