JaPa walks out from parliament

The Jatiya Party-led opposition lawmakers have walked out of the House in protest against the government decision to increase power price.

This is the first walk out of the opposition party in the 10th parliament.

Taking the floor on a point of order, Opposition Chief Whip Tajul Islam said: “The power price hike will hamper the economic development of the country. Government decision to hike power tariff is illegal and illogical.

We are walking out of the parliament protesting the government’s anti-people decision.”

He also criticized TIB report on wastage of money in quorum crisis during the ninth parliament.

“We have joined the parliament as the opposition for the first time. So we may have mistakes.

However, we want to create a new history in the country’s political arena.”
