Bangladesh has signed the 35th yen loan package with Japan on Saturday.
The size of the package is $1.18 billion, Kouichi Mizushima, deputy press secretary of Japan’s Foreign Ministry told this to the Dhaka Tribune.
Japan is Bangladesh’s biggest bilateral development partner and has so far provided about $11bn flexible loans since the country’s independence in 1971.
Dhaka and Tokyo signed the 33rd loan package of about $760m in February last year and the 34th involving $1.03bn the following month.
