Rizvi: AL men conducting countrywide violence

BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that the ruling party members were launching countrywide attacks on BNP activists and violating the electoral code of conduct ahead of the fourth phase of upazila election.

He made the allegations while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan office on Saturday afternoon.

He said: “The Awami League leaders and activists have attacked our men in different parts of the country and violating the electoral code of conduct in order to forcefully win the polls.

They are threatening our party members and trying to stop them from casting their votes, “he added.

Alleging that the killers of Sanahullah Babu, the slain upazila chairman of Baraigram, were attacking the local BNP members, he said: “They are attacking our activists in order to stop them from participating in the poll.”

Moreover, the ruling party members have beat up and injured some nine BNP leaders and activists in Bhola district ahead of the poll, he said.
