Information Minister and president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Hasanul Huq Inu Friday said the country's members of the minority communities are still victims of disparity.
"Democracy in the country will not get a total shape without removal of such disparity," he said adding: "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the head of the grand alliance government, has spread the umbrella of secularism and all should come together under this umbrella to eliminate militancy."
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the second session of the biennial council of Bangladesh Puja Utjapan Parishad (the national council for celebration of pujas) in the auditorium of the Institution of Engineers in the capital, BSS reports.
The minister said: "The militants want to transform our country into their safe haven”. It's not a time for intra-party feud and tender manipulation. I shall appeal to the Prime Minister to stop such ill activities. Time is ripe now for building united resistance against the militant outfits."
Terming those who kill people by setting them on fire and hurling crude bombs as enemies of humanity, Inu also said "Khaleda Zia is their godmother. She [Khaleda Zia] should be sent to exile from politics.”
