A new record has been created for power generation in the country as Bangladesh saw 6,884MW supplied to the national grid on Tuesday.
Power Development Board (PDB) acknowledged the new record at 8pm, PDB Director (Public Relations) Saiful Hasan told the Dhaka Tribune.
The previous feat of power generation was 6,687MW recorded on March 16. Last year, on July 12, PDB produced 6,675MW power.
Currently, the demand of power is around 6,500-7,000MW during peak hours, Saiful Hasan said. “There is no difference between demand and supply.”
On November 12 last year, Bangladesh celebrated 10,000MW power generation capacity.
