The nation is observing the 94th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today with due respect and festivity. The day is also observed as the National Children’s Day and this year’s slogan is “We will know Bangabandhu and become ideal persons.”
The day is a public holiday. Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television and private TV channels and radio channels are airing special programmes while national dailies have published special supplements highlighting the significance of the day.
To celebrate the day, the government and various socio-cultural and political organisations, including the ruling AL and its associate bodies, have chalked out various programmes.
On the occasion, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the daughter of the father of the nation, paid tributes to the Bangabandhu in separate messages.
