ACC seeks two AL MPs' wealth statements

Two MPs of ruling Awami League have been asked to provide their wealth statements to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in connection with an inquiry into the accumulation of illegal wealth.

They are Aslamul Haque, Dhaka 14 lawmaker and Abdul Jabbar, a former lawmaker from Satkhira 2.

Serving notices on Sunday, the ACC has asked them to provide the wealth statements within seven working days.

Aslamul Haque’s notice was signed by ACC Deputy Director Sheikh Mesbah Uddin while Assistant Director Masudur Rahman signed Abdul Jabbar’s notice.

The ACC last month launched an inquiry into the phenomenal rise in the wealth and assets of three former ministers, three members of parliament, and three former lawmakers from the BNP, the Awami League and the Jatiya Party.
