Bullet-hit body recovered in burnt state

Police have recovered the body of a bullet-hit person in a burnt state at Matidali bridge area in Bogra city.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The body was recovered at Matidali bridge area on Tuesday morning.

Phulbari police outpost Sub-Inspector Shafiqul Islam said: “Some 70% of the deceased body, including his face, had been burnt. There was a bullet wound on his chest.”

“He could not be indentified but it is being estimated that he was killed in some other area and later dumped here,” he said.

The SI said the locals found the body wrapped in polythene when they went to the spot seeing smoke come out from the area.

Earlier, two bullet-wounded bodies were recovered from Shibganj upazila of which one was of Md Mohidul Islam, an accused in the case filed over the attack on Asaduzzaman Nur’s motorcade while the other was of Abrahim Linkon, general secretary of Rangpur Medical College Fourth Class Workers’ Union.
