Four female workers of readymade garment factory have been killed as a train hit a human hauler in Jalalihat area of Chandgaon in Chittagong on Tuesday morning.
Md Shahidullah, additional deputy commissioner (north) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the deaths.
The identity of the victims could not be known immediately.
Chandgaon police station Assistant Sub-inspector Alauddin said a passenger train from Dohazari hit the human hauler when it went on the level crossing after the driver lost control over the steering around 8am.
Police detained the driver of the human hauler soon after the accident.
Bangladesh Railway has formed two probe committees to investigate the incident. The committees have been asked to submit report within three days.
