A man was killed and at least 10 others were injured in a fierce clash between two groups of people in Dhuliakhal area in Habiganj on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Dolon Mia, 35, of Kakailchhe village under Ajmeriganj upazila.
Police and locals said the clash erupted from a land-related dispute between Abdul Basit and Abdun Nur in the noon.
Dolon, who was a tenant of Basit, got injured when he went in to stop the clash.
Later, Dolon was rushed to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Among the injured, five were admitted to the hospital.
Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Bahar of Sadar police station said: “The family members claimed that Dolon was killed in the clash and no case was lodged in this connection so far.”
The body was kept at hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
