Two officials of burgled Sonali Bank’s Adamdighi upazila branch have been transferred to Bogra Zonal office on Sunday.
The officials are branch manager Samsuddin Sharif and cashier Azhar Ali.
Abdus Samad, deputy general manager of Sonali Bank in Bogra zone confirmed about the recent drive to the Dhaka Tribune.
Officer-in-Charge of Adamdighi police station Md Nazrul Islam said they have detained 10 people including four Ansar members and the cashier of the branch, so far in this connection.
Additional Superintended Police Abu Sayem said: “Improper security arrangements were the reason behind the burglary and law enforcers are on alert to figure out the culprits involved with the much-talked-about burglary incident.”
Two probe committees have been formed to investigate into the burglary at Sonali Bank branch in Bogra.
Sonali Bank formed a four-member committee headed by Rajshahi zone General Manager ATM Afzal Hossain.
Bangladesh Bank also formed a three-member probe body with Deputy General Manager Murtoza Ali as its chief.
About Tk32.5 lakh was stolen from Sonali Bank’s Adamdighi branch in Bogra on Saturday.
Burglars dug a tunnel from a nearby furniture shop to reach the vault of the bank.
In similar fashion robbers took away Tk16.4 crore from the Sonali Bank main branch of Kishoreganj on January 24 by digging a tunnel from an adjacent house.
