Khaleda: Poll boycott was right

BNP took the right decision about boycotting the 10th parliamentary poll, the party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said.

Henceforth, the BNP chief demanded a free and fair poll in the shortest time possible while addressing a reception ceremony of Dhaka Ainjibi Samiti in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

The people rejected Awami League in the January 5 poll, Khaleda Zia claimed. “They (Awami League) won a poll without the participation of voters.”

“BNP did not miss any train. They (Awami League) boarded the wrong train without people.”

She alleged that the government is using the law enforcement agencies to execute torture and repression throughout the country.

“The Awami League is using the police and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for their own benefit.”

“As long as the Awami League is in power, the country will have no good,” she said claiming that this party was now planning to stay in power forever.

Khaleda alleged that the government was “destroying” every institution in the country in a planned manner.
