BSF picks up 2 BGB, 1 Bangladeshi

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) nabbed two Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) troopers and a Bangladeshi national from the border area.

The two Bangladeshi border troopers have been returned less than 24 hours of their capture, according to officials. Their identities could not be obtained.

BSF nabbed the two troopers from Bokchor frontier in Godagari upazila, Rajshahi on Friday night, BGB 37 Adhinayak Nazim Uddin told the Dhaka Tribune.

“The two troopers strolled into India while patrolling the border. They have been returned on Saturday. A flag meeting has been held in this regard.”

Meanwhile, a Bangladeshi national Zahurul Islam, 27, has also been taken away by the BSF at Alutola frontier, Chapainawabganj, local police said.

The man had intruded into the neighboring country while cutting trees, Chapainawabganj police Assistant Superintendent Abdul Wahed told the Dhaka Tribune.
