Reports ran by the media regarding contact with the missing Malaysian Airlines aircraft is baseless, what officials have said according to Reuters.
The missing plane with 239 on board was said to have been located about 120 nautical miles southwest of Vietnam's Ca Mau, AP said citing local media.
However, Reuters contacted Vietnam maritime search Director Pham Hien and confirmed that no signal was picked up from the missing aircraft.
The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 carrying 239 people lost contact early Saturday morning over the South China Sea between Malaysia and Vietnam.
