Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have arrested six Myanmar nationals carrying 18 kilogram marijuana from No. 2.5 sluice gate area in Teknaf upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.
The detainees are Badsha, 22, Rafiqul Islam, 20, Abdul Amin, 22, Md Solim, 21, Osman Gani, 20, and Md Yasin hailed from Mongdu of Myanmar.
Lieutenant Colonel Abuzar Al Jahid, commander of BGB 42 Battalion told the Dhaka Tribune that acting on a tip-off, BGB personnel raided suspected Myanmar nationals in the area and seized the marijuana weighing 18 kilogram.
They were sent to Teknaf police station and a case was filed in this connection, he added.
