The ruling Awami League member of parliament from Dhaka 14, Aslamul Haque, is being interrogated for the source of his wealth that was shown in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.
The Anti-Corruption Commission deemed the wealth accumulation of MP Aslam is unusual and summoned him for questioning around 10am on Wednesday morning.
A delegation of the Anti-Corruption Commission including the investigation officer ACC Deputy Director Sheikh Misbah Uddin is questioning him.
Aslam showed 145 acres of land and Tk2 crore cash belonging to him and his wife in the wealth statement submitted ahead of the January 5 national poll.
He and his wife owned 4.19 acres of land and Tk20 lakh cash before the election held in 2008, what the erstwhile affidavit of the Election Commission said.
On January 12, ACC launched probes into the allegations of “unusual wealth” accumulation of seven political individuals, which included Aslamul Haque.
