A mother desperately dived under a moving bus in a bid to kill herself after killing her two tender daughters.
The incident occurred in Banani area of Bogra on Sunday afternoon.
The attempt left the woman injured. She has been admitted to Bogra Mohammad Ali Hospital.
The children are seven-year-old Upama and three-year-old Taslima.
Bogra Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Abu Haider Md Faizur Rahman said the bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy.
Salma Begum, mother of the two, tried to commit suicide by jumping under a running bus in the Banani after she had killed her daughters in their rented house in Latifpur area, while her husband Farid Uddin Ahmed was at office.
The man is a City Bank official.
Locals informed her husband when Salma told them what she had done with her daughters. Later, she was handed over to police.
Rushing home, the man found the children killed and a letter left, addressing to OC, “I am quitting, along with my daughters to get rid of pain, however, my husband is no way responsible,” the husband claimed.
Their neighbour Jubayer Hasan said Farid rented the house two and half years ago, however his wife didn’t come into contact with people as she was “mentally imbalanced.”
