5 held for forgery in JU admission tests

Five students seeking admission at Jahangirnagar University have been held for forging in the tests on Saturday.

They have been taken to the proctor’s office for interrogation about the matter.

Jahangirnagar University Proctor Md Mujibur Rahman said the answers the students received through SMS had a few similarities with the question papers.

Asked whether the tests would be cancelled, the proctor said: “The university authority would take the decision after investigating the matter.”

Golam Rabbani, associate professor of the History department, said the five students were caught using cell phones to receive answers through text messages during the tests.

“I have heard that the answers were completely similar with the question papers,” Golam Rabbani said.

He demanded postponement of the admission tests.

The intake admission test for the first year honours programme under the 2013-14 academic sessions at Jahangirnagar University has begun on February 16.
