Another of the picnicking students injured in a Jessore roadcrash died at the Combined Military Hospital in the capital on Thursday, taking the death toll to eight.
The deceased was identified as Eakramul Haque, 10, son of Manirul Islam, and a student of class V at Benapole Government Primary School.
Assistant Headmaster of Eakramul’s school, Mazeda Khatun, said: “Two injured students- Eakramul and Yanur Rahman- were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday where Eakramul succumbed to his injuries at night.”
On February 15, at least seven school children were killed and 40 others injured the bus they were travelling on fell into a roadside pond in Chougachha upazila in the district whilst returning from a picnic.
