The government has taken an initiative to incorporate the name of Bangladesh in the Guinness Book of World Recordsby singing the national anthem comprehensively on March 26 this year.
The main programme of singing the national anthem will be held at national parade square at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city at 11am.
The decision was taken in a meeting held at the Cultural Ministry conference roomrecently, reada cabinet division letter that wassent to all of the secretaries, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners across the country on Tuesday.
The letter signed by cabinet division’s Senior Assistant Secretary Altaf Hossain Sheikh stated: “The Cultural Ministry has initiated to incorporate the name of Bangladesh in the Guinness book of world record on singing the national anthem comprehensively.”
“In order to set the record successfully, the government is thinking to arrange maximum numbers of participationin the event,” it added.
Meanwhile, the local administration will also organise similar programmes, singing the national anthem in the district and upazila level at the same time.
The secretaries, all of the divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners across the country have been asked to ensure maximum participation in these programmes for singing the national anthem all together.
