The government will challenge the High Court order that allowed pilgrims open to choose any airlines for performing Hajj.
Religious affairs Minister Matiar Rahman on Sunday said the government will appeal after obtaining the full verdict of the High Court.
He made the statement to the media after meeting Saudi Arabia Hajj authority at his office.
In July last year, Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) challenged the monopoly of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Arabia Airlines for transporting pilgrims to Hajj.
In response to the challenge on Thursday, the High Court moved against the dominance of the two carriers and opened scope for pilgrims to wider choice of carriers.
The religious affairs minister said this decision of the High Court will be challenged.
