Martyr Salam’s grave yet to be identified

The government has not yet located the grave of language martyr Abdus Salam who laid down his life for the sake of Bangla 62 years ago.

Family members of the Language Movement martyr expressed anger and frustration that no government had taken any initiative to identify Salam’s grave in the Azimpur Graveyard in Dhaka and preserve it.

During a visit to the family at Salam Nagar of Dagonbhuiya in Feni yesterday, Salam’s younger brother Subedar (retd) Abdul Karim told the Dhaka Tribune: “When Ekushey February comes every year people from different professions, including administrative offcials and journalists, visit us.

“Afterwards, things go on as usual – no one cares anymore.” They demanded necessary measures to this end.
