Kiran’s Baul songs at IGCC today

For enthusiasts of Baul songs, Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre has arranged prominent singer Kiran Chandra Roy to perform at IGCC’s Gulshan 1 premises at 6:30pm today.  Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in association with Asian Paints, IRCON and Marico Bangladesh is organising the event titled “An Evening of Folk Music.” 

Born in 1957 at Manikgonj, Kiran Chandra Roy is a versatile folk singer who specialises in Baul songs. He has received training in music from famous singer and music composer, Khondokar Nurul Alam. A prolific singer, Kiran has recorded more than 30 solo albums. Many of these albums have set bestselling records. He is a regular performer on radio and TV and is also a playback singer. He received the national award in the best singer category for the film Dukhai in the year 1997.

Kiran has performed all around the world in countries such as India, China, Japan, Singapore, Qatar, Nepal, Korea (South & North), England, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden and Canada. He has also performed in numerous charity programmes all over the world.
