Rasel Bin Satar, the youth, who was arrested for his involvement with the “al-Qaeda audio message” floated online, has been sued with charges of sedition.
Elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed two cases with Tangail Model Police Station against Rasel Bin Satar. The other case is over violation of the ICT Act.
RAB 12 Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) Kamal Hossain filed the lawsuits late on Tuesday night, Tangail model police Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam said.
Investigation officer of these cases, Sub Inspector Abdullah Al Tayabir, said Rasel will be produced at the court on Wednesday afternoon.
“We will seek 15-day remand to grill Rasel in custody for his link to the video,” he said.
On Tuesday, RAB detained Rasel, an admin of Basher Kella Facebook page (a front of the Islami Chhatra Shibir), from Tangail.
Officials said he was the main propagator of the so-called al-Qaeda clip online.
The audio clip said to be from the al-Qaeda, called for an uprising of the Muslims in Bangladesh and urged to move against the “anti-Islamist forces.”
