Sixth death anniversary of Manna observed

Manna, an iconic Dhallywood actor, was remembered yesterday on his sixth death anniversary at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation, his hometown Tangail and other places by his fans, friends and family members.

Born in 1964 in Tangail district, SM Aslam Talukder, better known by his stage name Manna, stepped into the world of cinema through the film, Kashem Malar Prem, in 1984 after he was discovered through a talent search programme by the BFDC. From then on, there was no looking back for him.

Manna acted in more than 300 films in lead roles, most of which did well in the box office when Dhallywood  was facing a serious drought.

He is credited with blockbusters like Danga, Deshpremik, Loottoraj, Ammajan, Moner Sathey Juddho, Dui Bodhu Ek Swami and Bortoman, among others.
