Rain threatens Tigers' ODI face-off

The first One Day International cricket match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at Mirpur is threatened in view of the pouring drizzle on Monday.

It is unlikely that the match will be played since the drizzle, pouring since Saturday, has soaked the outfield.

However, an official announcement is still pending.

The day-night match is scheduled to begin at 1pm (local time) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital's Mirpur.

Mushfiqur Rahim has apparently recovered and is back into the squad. He is set to lead, annulling speculations about his fitness ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup next month.

The Tigers had bounced back in the two Twenty20 matches; defeated in both through nail-biting last ball strikes after the disappointing defeat in the first Test.

The second Test match was drawn.
