A boy and his sister were killed in a road mishap on the Belkuchi-Enayetpur road in Sirajganj on Thursday evening.
The victims were Mamun Khandaker, 5, and his sister Banna Khatoon, age unknown, the son and daughter of Md Abul Khayer from the village of Kadamtali in Belkuchi upazila.
Belkuchi police officer-in-charge Md Abdul Hye said a local bus ran the two over while they were crossing the Belkuchi-Enayetpur road some time near 4pm.
Locals blockaded the road for at least two hours but the barricade was eventually taken down after the police intervened.
The driver and the helper of the bus that ran the siblings over fled from the scene. A case was lodged regarding this matter.
