Four people of a family have been killed and two others have been injured as a truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Pachmile area under Gopalganj upazila in Sylhet on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Humayun, 35, his wife Salma Begum, 32, their son Raihan, 11, and Humayun’s mother Lal Banu, 65.
Sources said a truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Pachmile area on Sylhet-Jakiganj road around 12:30pm, killing two on the spot and injuring the others.
Osmani Medical College Hospital Assistant Director Tonmoy Bhattacharya confirmed the dead and the identity to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “Two of the injured died at the hospital while the other two are in critical condition.”
