Mobile phone operator Grameenphone recorded only Tk1,470.2 crore net profits in 2013, which is a decrease of 15.99% as compared to the previous year.
The largest mobile phone operator in the countrypresented the data on the Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd website this morning.
GP’s profit was Tk1,751 core after 2012, while it was Tk1,889 crore after 2011, according to the declared information.
Though they have lost profit, the top listed mobile phone operator recommended a 50% cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2013.
The decision was taken at the board meeting of the largest telecom operator in the country on Monday.
Earlier, they distributed an interim cash dividend of 90%, making a total of 140% cash dividend for the last year.
They also distributed 140% cash dividend in 2012.
The company’s earnings per share stand at Tk10.89, which was Tk12.96 earlier in 2012.
The company’s annual general meeting will held April 9 at Bashundhara Convention Center-2, Baridhara.
Grameenphone will declare all this information at a press conference that will be held at a city hotel on Tuesday afternoon.
