The Liberation War of 1971 is one of the biggest challenge faced by the Bangladeshis and at the end, they came out as the glorious victors after a lengthy struggle of nine months. Celebrating the famous victory, director Sadek Siddique will release his new movie Hridoye Ekattor on the Independence Day.
Produced by Anandabazar Multimedia, Hridoye Ekattor portrays the mass devastation and destruction left by the war in its wake. At the end of it all, Bangladesh emerged as an independent country on the world map in 1971. For the first time, Emon and Rumana will appear together in a movie based on the Liberation War. The shooting of the film is being conducted in various locations around the country and the cast includes Emon,
Rumana, Anna, Shagor, Saif Khan, Rakhi, Shahidul Islam Sachchu, Hira Asraf Kobir, Abbas Ullah Maruf, Aamir, Udoy Khan, Nishu Rahman and others.
In an interview with the Dhaka Tribune, the director said: “Many movies have been made based on the Liberation War only. But, Hridoye Ekattor will portray the war as well as the launching of the Gonojagoron Moncho, that called for the trial of the war criminals. I have made this movie with the aim of educating our young generation about the horrors and struggle of our forefathers during the gruesome nine months of the Liberation War. It is crucial that the youth learns about the immense sacrifice of the freedom fighters for the liberated country, in which they now reside.”
