JS session adjourned till Wednesday

The sitting of the first session of the 10th Parliament has adjourned till Wednesday.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury adjourned the House at 8:43pm.

The House will resume its sitting at 4:30pm Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the sitting of the first session of the 10th Parliament resumed on Tuesday afternoon.

The parliament session began at 4:36pm with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

The maiden session of the new parliament started on Wednesday. On the first day, President Abdul Hamid delivered his speech in parliament.

The new parliament elected the Speaker and Deputy Speaker in its first sitting on January 29.

BNP is out of parliament for the first time since the restoration of parliamentary democracy in the country in 1991.

The BNP-led alliance boycotted the election, as its demand for holding the polls under a non-partisan administration went unheeded. They are also demanding fresh polls.
