Khulna City Corporation (KCC) authorities seized 27 motorcycles citing they are not used for official purposes.
According to the KCC’s secretary, 15 of the 27 seized motorcycles were bought using KCC funds while the 12 others were purchased by the owners at their own cost.
Issuing an official order to this regard, KCC Secretary Iddris Siddiky on January 27 placed the motorcycles at the disposal of Executive Engineer (Mechanical) Md Abdul Aziz by directive of KCC Mayor Moniruzzaman Moni.
When asked, the mayor said he had been compelled to take the steps to respect the system.
