Next Ijtema on Jan 9-11, 16-18

The first phase of the BiswaIjtema, the second largest Muslim congregation after Hajj, will be held from January 9-11 and its second phase will be held from January 16-18, in 2015.

Engineer Gias Uddin, one of the organisers of the BiswaIjtema, told the Dhaka Tribune.

The second phase of the BiswaIjtemaof this year ended with AkheriMunajat on Sunday while its first phase ended on January 26.

Hundreds of thousands of devotees from home and abroad gathered at BiswaIjtema ground on the bank of Turagriver in Tongi, Gazipur to attend the AkheriMunajat (final prayers).

This was the fourth year that the Ijtemawas held in two phases in Tongi, around 20km from the capital, to enable smooth management and security checks.

Devotees from 32 districts of the country take part in the first phase of Ijtema while devotes from the rest 32 districts participate in the second phase.

Moreover, hundreds of devotees from around the world including Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Palestine, UK, USA join the both phases.

TablighJamaat has been organising the annual congregation. The Ijtema features delivery of sermons on fundamental matters of Tabligh, prayers for spiritual adulation, exaltation and welfare of the Muslim Ummah, and recitation from the holy Quran and Hadith.
