The website of the Cabinet Division, the most important division of the government, has been recovered from an Indian hacker group immediately after it was hacked.
The site was hacked for few minutes on Saturday. The high officials of the division managed to recover the site from an Indian hacker group immediately after the incident came to their attention.
Admitting the incident, Cabinet Division’s Additional Secretary Mohammad Najrul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune: “An Indian hacker group--Indian Hackers Online Squad--hacked the website. The matter came to our attention in the evening.
We ordered the information technology section of the division to recover it quickly. The information technology team of the division immediately recovered the website and made all information secure,” he added.
He also said the IT team of the division usually visits the website every six hours to ensure its security.
The Indian hackers wrote “IHOS” on the homepage of the website. It was removed immediately and replaced with the information that were kept earlier in the website.
