India for investment in Bangladesh

India is interested to invest in the modern industries of Bangladesh, Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran said on Wednesday.

The indian high commissioner met Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at his office, senior information officer of the ministry Abdul Jalil said.

The duo discussed on bilateral affairs and Minister Amu urged to alleviate hindrances and deficit in trade between Indian and Bangladesh, the official said.

“Indian High Commissioner Pankaj Saran provided his assurances in this regard,” he said.

“Saran advised the minister to concentrate more on manufacturing industries rather than depending on export and import,” Abdul Jalil said.

“He (Saran) also said that Indian businessmen were interested to invest in the modern industries of Bangladesh.”

Pankaj Saran urged Minister Amu for discussions with the trade bodies of the two countries in this regard and take appropriate measures, Jalil said.
