Normalcy was returning at the branch of Sonali Bank Limited in Kishoreganj Sadar on Wednesday, where just a few days ago more than Tk16 crore was looted.
Bank employees and customers were seen at the usual busyness at the branch located on Isha Kha road apparently at ease after the crime was cracked.
“We were very tensed for the last two days,” acting manager of the branch AKM Fazlul Haque said. “We are relieved after the criminal has been arrested and the money recovered.”
“Activities and transactions at the bank has returned to normal,” he told.
Meanwhile, a four-member panel of the Bangladesh Bank, led by its Joint Manager Fayez Uddin, visited the bank in the morning.
The others who visited along with him were: Deputy Directors Rokanuzzaman, Kazi Abdul Mannan and Assistant Director Aminul Haque Dollar.
On Tuesday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained three people, including the mastermind, and recovered most of the stolen money.
