The High Court barred the harassment or showing the detainment of three top BNP leaders without following legal procedures in an order issued on Monday.
The BNP leaders in question are Vice Chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka, Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvee and Organising Secretary Golam Akbar Khandaker.
Khoka's lawyer Saqed Mahbub said the three leaders cannot be arrested from jail gates now without an arrest warrant of the trial court.
The bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Md Habibul Gani issued the order moved by writ petitions on behalf of the defense.
