Bangladeshi stabbed, mugged in Maldives

An unidentified group of men stabbed an immigrant Bangladeshi worker Saturday evening, and stole money and a mobile phone from him.

According to the police, the man was stabbed at around 7pm near Apollo Aanuveli shop on Buruzu Magu in Maldives, reports Haveruu Online.

Police said his injuries were not serious, and that he is receiving treatment from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The migrant Bangladeshi had been working as a lorry driver for Lily International.

A fellow worker said that he has wounds on his back and arms. He was reportedly attacked by a three person gang who took the MVR3,500 in his wallet along with his mobile phone.

Police said that the investigation is still going on, but no arrests have been made yet.
