Two people were killed when a train rammed onto a pick-up van on a level crossing at Mukul Bazar in sadar upazila on the morning of Friday, reports UNB.
The deceased were Samej, 27, driver of the pick-up van and Dulal, 36, a vegetable trader.
Railway sources said the Dhaka-bound commuter train from Dewanganj collided with the pick-up van on the level crossing at 6:45am, leaving two dead on the spot and one other injured.
Upon being informed, a fire service unit rushed in and recovered the bodies.
The injured vegetable trader Palash was rushed to Jamalpur General Hospital while the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue.
