Fire gutted about 29 tin-shade houses in an area of Kaliakoir upazila, Gazipur on Wednesday morning, officials said. However, no injuries were reported.
Kaliakoir Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Officer Apurbo said the fire sparked from a short circuit in Harinhati area around 9:30am in the morning.
Two units of Kaliakoir fire service tamed the flames after about one and half hour of efforts around 11am, he said. The fire was doused at around 11:30a.
No one was injured in the fire, but losses around Tk25 lakh were incurred.
