At least five people, including two women, were killed yesterday in separate roads accidents in Gazipur, Faridpur and Feni.
In Faridpur, a police constable, Harun Matubbar, 55, and his daughter Reba Begum, 30, died when their motorcycle collided with a roadside utility pole at Manikdaha area under Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Sunday morning.
The victims were rushed to Bhanga upazila heath complex in critical condition, where doctors declared Reba dead. Later, Harun died while he was being taken to Faridpur city, our Faridpur correspondent adds.
Officer-in-charge of Bhanga police station said that Harun was on leave from service due to his poor health condition.
In Gazipur, a minor girl was killed when a CNG-run three-wheeler collided with a truck at the Rajbari point of the Rajendrapur-Kapasia highway in Shreepur upazila.
Acting officer-in-charge of Shreepur Police Station Amir Hossain has said the victim, Shamima Akhtar, 14, was killed when the CNG-run three-wheeler she was riding toppled after being barged by a truck at Rajendrapur-Kapasia highway on Sunday morning.
Locals rushed Shamima to Al-Razi Hospital in Rajbari in critical condition. Later, Shamima succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment, our Gazipur correspondent adds.
In Feni, two people died in separate read accidents on Sonagaji-Feni highway and Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
