The High Court issued a ruling on Wednesday seeking an explanation as to why an order will not be issued to compensate the affected minorities in the country.
The bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain issued the ruling moved from self-initiative after the recent attacks on the country's Hindu community.
The bench also sought answers as to why an order will not be issued to stop the oppression of the minorities and that the attackers be brought to book.
The home secretary, inspector general of police and the deputy commissioners of affected districts were asked to come up with answers within two weeks.
They have also been asked to prepare a report within seven days on the measures taken in this regard after the attacks carried out post January 5 elections.
