One died and at least 10 others were injured when a bus veered off the road and plunged into a ditch in Shahjahanpur upazila, Bogra early on Wednesday.
Rangpur-bound Meem Paribahan from Dhaka was struck in the accident near Fatki bridge of the Dhaka-Dinajpur highway around 3am, an injured said.
Bogra police Assistant Superintendent Gaziur Rahman said two people died but could not provide the identities of the dead in primary reports.
Ten of the injured, including two in critical condition, were admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra, he added.
Injured Momena Begum said the bus fell into the ditch while trying to overtake another vehicle on the highway.
Driver and helper of the bus fled after the accident, police said.
