Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Mohammad Shah Ali Sarkar died of a cardiac arrest in Sirajganj on Monday night.
The veteran singer had a cardiac arrest while he was having tea at Dhekuria Bazaar of Kazipur upazila around 8:15pm and it left him dead on the spot.
Talukder Jahangir Alam, chairman of Machbari Union Parishad, who was with Shah Ali during the incident, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune.
The namaz-e-janaza of the noted singer will be held at 10am on Tuesday. He will be buried in state honour.
Shah Ali was a listed singer at Rangpur centre of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.
