High Court 1, on Monday, granted a six month bail to Shialdanga UP Chairman Abdul Mazid Bishwas in a case filed for felling seven government owned trees.
Judge ME Inayetur Rahim Mohammad Ullah passed the order and instructed him to plant 50 trees, which include mahogany and teak.
The court also ordered Satkhira police station’s officer-in-charge to submit a report concerning the matter.
Earlier on March 8, 2013, a case was filed against Abdul Mazid Bishwas for felling seven government owned trees.
He was arrested on September 9 in connection to the incident.
